Hi there, I have several tom plants in grow bags and pots.  They all have lots of flowers on them and some have fruit.  My garden is in quite a dark sheltered spot so my growing seems to take longer!.

I have noticed that my tom plants have started to go grey and then black along the stems, then spreads.  I have removed the affected leaves and stems but a whole pot of tumblers is now being wiped out in a matter of days.

I have been told that this may be due to over watering.  Is this true or is this blight? 

What can I do to rectify this problem if anything?

It does rather sound like blight - the black stems tend to suggest that

You could try spraying any unaffected plants with dithane but those which have it are probably best to be removed and binned (not composted)

If you spray with dithane to protect your tomato plants you must wait for 7 days before eating any fruit. That is what it says on the packet.
