I have a couple of rows of carrots that have been attacked by carrot root fly.  I was wondering - should I leave them in and harvest them and and when we want them (and make the most of whats harvest) or shall we harvest the lot and resow some more ??

We have some more carrots (in the next bed - about 8' away) that where planted a little later and they seem to be ok - I am worried that if I leave the carrots in that have been attacked that they will suffer also.

I assume you have some sort of protection around them?  If not, stick some up.  Lots on the net on how to avoid carrot fly.  Albeit a bit late for your current batch in trouble..

With regards to your question, I would lift the lot, and gamble with a sowing of earlys and see if I can squeeze in another load this year.

Definately protect the next lot with a fleece barrier or similar, avoid thinning them too (so as to avoid the attention of the dreaded fly).

Alternatively, depending on how badly you want the carrots, and how much hassle lifting the lot would be, you could just take your chances and leave them there.  Some will probably be ok still, its not a given that the fly has wrecked the lot.
