Can blight show on toms before foliage?
« on: August 04, 2009, 10:20 »
Can blight appear on tomatoes themselves before the leaves? I have removed three beef tomatoes from a plant at my daughters as they had developed large blighty looking patches (not at the base so not blosson end rot) - a bit sunken in and very brown/black. However no signs on the leaves so I am puzzled.

Did you have hailstones in the recent storms. These can damage the skins and allow other peskies to get in.
Normally with blight the toms go brown allover first then just turn to mush.
