Hi there,

Does anyone know of any scaffold companies in the Reading, Berkshire area that will either give away or sell off cheaply used boards/planks?

I have approached a couple of companies but both have said they will not sell off or give away old/used planks due to health and safety reasons??

Any help appreciated.

A little way from Reading I know but have you tried Bert Haynes scrapyard at East Challow near Wantage?  They have no end of junk (and useful bits and pieces) there. 

If you had the means of collecting quite a few (trailer/roof rack?) it might be worth giving them a call to see if they have any.

If nothing else it's a nice journey along the Downs over to Wantage from Reading (good hostileries on the way as well - LOL!)

Have you tried e-bay they always have some for sale in most areas, and from memory they are not too expensive

I've tried to get boards but with no luck H&S!!!!
Seen them for £7.50 each but when they are on the plot some person will nick them!
