Hi we have 3 hens and a cock of the favorell variety, does any one know how old will they be before they start to lay ? We have been told two different times one is 22 weeks and the other is 32 weeks

Hello TJC, I am presuming that the hens are faverolles? Are they large or bantam? in that case, anything from around 24 weeks is normal, not uncommon to be a little later, they are a slow growing breed so can take a little longer to come into lay. If you post piccies will be able to guess how old they are.

Hi D, Thanks for your reply, they will be 21 weeks on friday so at 24 weeks to pol we wont have to wait long for our first egg, its so exciting to see them grow and change.
