i want to grow big carrots,will they grow on there side in a plastic drain pipe???

No - because the tops grow up in search of light and the roots grow down in search of water etc. Try growing in tubs / barrels. PS I checked to see whether it was April 1st

... and remember to prepare the soil underneath the end of the drainpipe too. There is no reason that they won't keep going down if they find favourable conditions.
