They start rotting and fall off and I'm not sure why.  What am I doing wrong?

I've not grown courgettes before, but I decided to try them this year (I've grown the yellow variety), and these are coming along fantastic (keeping fingers crossed).  I just throw some slug pellets down occasionally, but I've not yet lost any.   In fact, I picked the first one today for my tea, and its really firm.  It tasted great as well.
