i sowed seeds last year in pots in the hope to put them in my plot, as we are now moving to wales next year there is no way i am letting someone else have them so they stayed in pots over winter outside which my hens happily chooked in and scratched in, then yesturday when i thought all hope had gone i saw tiny asparagus shoots reaching for the sky!! i am so happy i will pot them up and take them to wales with me next year!!  ps anyone know of any guest houses for sale in pembrokshire around the £300k mark?

Definitely take the asparagus to Wales with you - I've just had my first sample harvest of asparagus (from 1 year old crowns planted 2 years ago) - 2 spears (1 generously donated to OH), steamed for 2 minutes, served with a knob of butter and black pepper    Yum.  

Well worth the wait and looks like there is more to come.

ps. don't know of any guesthouses in Pembrokeshire.  Have you thought about buying a property and transforming it?

we are frightened of paying the mortgage but having no income, ideally we want to step into someone elses shoes with bookings, best laid plans though
