Where is your orange tree situated Chrissie? It could be down to the amount of light - or half its roots may be in trouble (which can mean the other half often follows). I'm no expert on citrus, but have a couple of bushes that seem fine with warmer (indoor)) conditions and regular feeding.  The smell from their blossom is mind blowing. Also where's the pear tree too, and whats around it?

The only 'pear' trees i ever saw growing were actually quinces......so don't know if you can grow pears where you are  Does anyone else there have them?
Does the wind blow onto the side of the tree without flowers?........used to happen with my lemon tree every year:) but the orange tree which was more sheltered was fine.

the mandarine tree is in the middle of the garden so it gets loads of sun and is green and healthy all over but the tree splits into 2 and the small half has the flowers on , ive been lookiing at it for weeks wondering if this year would be the year we got fruit and one day i was weeding and smelt the flowers and got a nice suprise.
the pear can be grown here , ours is in a sheltered place and is in a line with an apple and a nectarine tree both doing great except for peach leaf curl . dont know whats the problem just hope its not catching .

pears are not big fans of hot dry conditions try growing one in a shader part of the garden even north facing

with regardes to the pair tree, we just had a hole in the garden next to the pear tree hubby gave it a shake and it snapped in half it was the ants , they had chewed straight through it , it was only hanging on by a thread so now its only a little stump .
