Garden peas

Hi .I would like to know the best feed to give my garden peas. The ones I have are Onward and I think the other is Keveldon.Many thanks in advance.

The best feed to give them is none. They don't need it, if you do feed them they are likely to make a lot of foliage rather than pods.

They actually put nitrogen back into the soil.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Peas do not need feed, they take nitrogen from the air and store it in nodules on the root system, the same as runner beans, I found a very useful chart about which plants need and do not need nitrogen, I could try to scan it and put it on here if you would like it

Peas may not need much nitrogen but they do need some in the early stages, especially ones sown early before the soil warms up. Also needs other soil nutrients such as phosphate and potash. If your soil is light and hungry add a little potato or tomato fertilizer, which is low in nitrogen and high in potash, to the seedbed before planting.

All i've done with my peas is the same as everything else......

chuck a little growmore down every month.

we picked our first peas for Fridays dinner and they were lovely.

And theres loads on my 5 n half foot high supposedly kelvedons.  :)
