Look... Look.... I'm soooo excited..

I decided to dig up a few of my Pentland Javelin earlies the other day... and we had some last night for tea.... mmmmmmm they were so so tasty.
This is the first time that I have grown earlies on this plot... so i'm well happy with the result so far. No slug holes, no scab, no cracking or spliting... it's such a great feeling  :D :D :D

I've also dug up a load of PJ's today and not one slug hole amongst them compared to the Swift which have about 50% damage.

I grow PJ's every year as they are a sure fire crop for me, but like to try a different one as well. I beginning to wonder if it's worth it!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Nice one Andy.

PJs for me too this year. I've dug a few plants up and not a blemish on them, which contrasts with the earlies I grew last year where it was hard to find one not chewed by slugs and/or wireworm.

My PJ's were going yellow so I dug the rest up this afternoon.  I was very pleased with them.  Only one had a split in it.  But the rest are lovely, and they were only Wilko's spuds!!

Well done you.  :)

This is my first season growing my own veg and am growing Rocket, Maris Peer and Roosters.

The Rocket are rubbish, hardly any spuds off them but the Maris Peer are brilliant, loads of spuds off one plant. I too am well chuffed with them.

Fingers crossed for the Rooster main crop later on.

We have done rocket AdsaM and have had loads off them. I do find that it does depend where we plant them on our plot though. This year's bed is good for growing potaotes but when we move down the bottom again next year they won't be as good.  :(

We've now had a couple of crops of spuds too, didn't grow them last year so was very excited to dig them up for the first time, like digging for treasure! Have so far had some Pink Fir Apple (love the nobbliness of them!), some PJs and some Arran Pilot and they were all delicious! Am just about to make some potato salad with what we didn't eat the other night!
