Could any tell me if its possible to move asparagus, I,ve just found some on the allotment I,ve recently taken on and I,d like to keep them, but not where they are. If it is possible when is the correct time to do this.

cant see why not but i would wait until its died back at the end of the year and you will have a hell of a job dividing it if its been there a long time.the roots are realy tuff and tied into each other,wait for a few weeks and you should get a crop

They,ve been there for ages Shaun, I only noticed then today as I was going round weeding there are quite a few spears up so I cut a few and they were beutifull and tender, thats why I want to try and keep them.

thinking about it i think it would be a crime to move it,cant you start a new bed of it with new plants and hold onto this one you have found for a year or 2

That sounds a good idea shaun, I,m in agreement with you that it would be a shame to move it. as they seem well established.
