Marrow going bad
« on: June 22, 2009, 20:42 »
Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could offer some advice. Ive got a Poly Tunnel with a couple of Marrow plants in there, they are both flowering really well and one has fruit(?) The problem is its gone bad and its only 2" long. Its gone light brown and soggy.
Does anyone know why this could have happened?

Its the only life on either plant so dont want the rest to go the same way.

Nick

Are you pollinate them ?  You will need to as it is in a poly tunnel.

Pick off a mature male flower (the ones with no baby marrow behind the flower).  Remove the petals leaving the male parts exposed.  "Introduce" this to the female flower.   Have fun
