Chicken Housing in Durham/Darlington
« on: June 21, 2009, 22:25 »
Hi guys

I am looking for a new chicken shed.  My dad bought one from a small industrial unit in Darlington last yeah which was about £200 however he cant find the name or address of the company :-(

The shed hes got is brill its got a door in the middle and then inside purches either side of the door and external nest boxes.

Does anyone know anywhere in this area what does reasonabley priced housing?

Don't know about ready made housing but have you tried making your own?

My OH made a fantastic henhouse out of B&Q feather board and Ikea bed posts!

Bedposts being screwed together:

Feather board used as cladding; view from the inside before doors added:

Doors added:

Total cost; about £30

Admittedly, if I had to do it all again I'd change the design; ie make it slightly bigger and add a 'portch' to the front to keep them drier but as it is it werks fer me!
