Greenhouse Cucumbers

4 plants growing well, small Q's. Do I need to take male flowers. They seem to have stopped at 3 inches?
Advice please.

Outdoor ones doing well, short & fat
Hoping for bettetrin the geenhouse?

Hi Alex,
i've never removed the male flowers but this is only my second year of cucumbers. I would assume they are needed for make the girl flowers fruit???
No doubt someone who knows much mmore than me will enlighten us and improve our cucumbers.

Hi,

I remove all ale flowers. Also ensure you feed them.

I have jut removed two whoppers, over 12 inch and very thick  :blink:

Greenhouse varieties, remove the flowers, otherwise the seed makes the cucumber taste bitter.

Outdoor, leave them on.

Things get really complicated if you grow outdoor varieties indoors, especially alongside an indoor type!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

How do we know what is male and what is female. Sorry no rude pics please and keep your laughter under control, we only inherited a cucumber in the poly so I am pretty stupid when it comes to them  :unsure:

oh dear I'm growing Log Green Ridge (outdoor type) indoors, first cucs were nice, then 2 lime green ones with nasty taste...
how complicated is it going to be DD? :)

There shouldn't really be a pollination issue as such there if you are just growing them and no others, provided enough insects can get into the greenhouse to do the work.

Could be a problem if you've got two sorts, one that needs pollinating and one that doesn't.

I seem to remember the post about your lime green cues & just wondered if you'd left them a bit too long, as this is the colour they will go on their way to going yellow.
