Totem pole, we are digging as fast as we can, but I need more space 

Can we use the space under the bean frame for anything.

its quite shady as it backs onto a large and very overgrown council border.

I dont need to grow anymore lettuce so something else would be great, I have beetroot, caulis, squash, courgette. etc etc

I have chucked some radishes under mine as they should be ready before they get shaded out by my beans. Anything else that maytures quickly would be fine but anything that needs a decent growing period will probably be badly affected by the shade, especially if the area is already shaded by something else.

I think spinach doesn't mind a bit of shade, well I'm sure too much sunlight can cause it to bolt, so presumably shade will help?
