hi guys

Just cleaned the cupboard out today and found a garlic bulb we havent used however its got creen shoots comming off all of the segments.  Is it possible to break these up and plant each segment?  If so is it just the case of spliting and putting them in the ground or could someone advice? hope you can help

It's not really the right time of year to be planting garlic, and if it's a supermarket one it may or may not be a) pest/disease free, or b) suitable for growing in our climate.

I'd cook with it, to be honest.

But when you do eventually plant garlic in the autumn or spring, yes you plant each clove individually in the ground.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I'd plant it, whats the worst that can happen?

I also grow supermarket garlic without any problems, even tesco value garlic.
We use chemicals in this garden, just as god intended

I found some the same around 2-3 weeks ago and planted them in a spare bit of ground I had.  They are coming up great!

I suppose you can eat them green later on (slice them up like leeks)......i doubt they will have time to bulb up before the weather changes.
