I've read up on harvesting my garlic and it says to harvest when the leaves are beginning to turn yellow.

How yellow is yellow? and do I need to wait for all the leaves on each plant to be turning yellow , or just a couple on each plant?

I planted mine at the end of October last year and there are leaves that are going yellow on each of the plants , but some that are still quite green and standing upright.

Should I harvest them now or wait a bit longer? Also my elephant garlic appears to be growing a flower , as well as the leaves turning yellow ..... help! Don't know what to do!

Mine look a bit like that and as one was in 'the way' a week or so ago so i pulled it........it was still like a leek with no bulb ................so my advice would be to leave them alone for a good while yet

In my experiance garlic seems capable of looking on it's way for quite a long time!... i think it just likes teasing me 

I don't plan on even looking at mine till the strat of next of the month.. i find whole lonest day thing to be  bit of a nonsence... for me they need till mid July sometimes later.

Not sure why but I seem to recall reading that 2/3 of the leaves had to have turned brown.

I think the idea being that the garlic was definately at the end and so should be harvested.
