comfrey?
« on: June 06, 2009, 08:20 »
hi

would any comfrey do or does it have to be the bocking 14 type?  I've found a huge patch but it's just the ordinary wild variety.

It doesn't have to be B14, the main difference is that B14 isn't such a thug, doesn't try to take over the whole allotment on the same scale
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

i use about half a teacup in a gallon watering gan every week at this time of year and I put it on everything! I have tons of wild comfrey on my plot and produce comfrey liquid on almost an industrial scale. Toms and courgettes in particular love it
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

you can get concentrated comfrey juice if you use the pipe method (ideal for toms in the greenhouse).as for the water butt method i water everything with it
feed the soil not the plants
