Green Fly on my Toms
« on: May 30, 2009, 14:30 »
Hi,

Is there anything I should be doing to stop green fly attacking my tomato plants, I keep pulling them off but am I doing something wrong or is this just to be expected????

Any help gratefully received.

Playing devil's advocate here..............but you're not allowed to spray anything that is not on the EU list of approved pesticides  :tongue2:
Looks like some you get away with and some you don't ::)

"EU list of approved pesticides "  But supposing you were just washing your plants to make then look nice...

That's what my reasoning is for the other sprays people want to use...........anyway they are not pesticides they are repellents...........the garlic spray is especially repellent if you ask me :tongue2:

I asked the same question, got told washing up liquid in water to make a spray, or crushed garlic in water as well as planting french marigolds in between plants - which I did and it makes the whole thing a little prettier  ;)

I always plant my tomatoes with basil and  marigolds and have not had a problem on them.
