silly cabbagy question
« on: May 31, 2009, 21:30 »
Hello all

Have just returned from a very productive weekend in my garden, everything is happy and growing well and I have harvested my first ever veg...lettuce!
I also thinned out my cabbages, I had left it quite late and the ones that I removed had decent sized leaves...as big as I imagine the rest will get eventually. Anyway I am not sure if I can eat them! On one hand I think I may be being really silly, but then thought perhaps the cabbages mature over time to not only make them bigger but also edible. I don't like to waste anything (although they can be composted) but thought I'd ask on here. Any guidance? huge thanks

Not aware of anything to prevent you eating them. :D :D :D
Seen several articals about the delicacy of young veg.

Tell you what, put up a post when you start eating. ??? ???
If we hear no more from you after that we will assume the worst and not eat them ourselves

Just think how much extra we pay in supermarkets for younger, smaller veg!

I would eat them  :D
