when its raining do you have to close your chickens up or are they ok to come and go as they please, what do you reckon works best for you.    nicky

Hi Nicky, mine are free range and when it rains some will stay out whilst others hide under shrubs or perch on the low branches of one of our apple trees, I guess what I am trying to say is so long as they have somewhere to go under cover they will be fine.

Nicky, my hens will tolerate a light rain, but when it starts to hammer it down, they bolt for their run!  It's every hen for herself!
