Until I enlarged the phot, I thought it may be an allium, but not so sure now.  Whatever it is, it's beautiful.

Could be an allium - a.beesianum or a.sikkinense

Or it could be Nectaroscordum siculum  which used to be an allium but has been re-classified.

Perhaps it's easier just to call it an ornamental onion
Playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order!

Hi,
Thank you all for your kind reply.
After a quick research on google this is what I found it to be: Allium bulgaricum, Sicilian honey lily

Agapanthus does not droop down like the one in the photo.

Nor would it be in flower at this time of year.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I did think you could get droopy agapanthuses - but I haven't grown them so am happy to be corrected.

I also completely missed the post where it was identified as allium bulgaricum.  Ooops!

I've got one too and always known it as Honey Lilly.  It's easier to remember than the big long names.

Your plant is called a 'NECTAROSCORDUM'    It is related to the allium family.  The variety with the green-shaded white flower is called 'Bulgaricum'  It like full sun and any type of soil, provided it is well drained..   You can divide the clumps in Autumn, if they grow too big.     Flower arrangers like them, when they have dried them off.   Regards, Mrs Bouquet
