When is the boot sale on at the race course, Yorkie? Have I missed it?

It's every Saturday morning when there isn't a race meeting on - at least during the summer months.  It's at the side entrance on Bishopthorpe road, don't know if you pay to park there as I always walk

Get there early, as some traders pack up shop by 11am
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

snails are God's way of stopping Allotmenteers from getting too smug. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it!! :D

Snails I can cope with as I have very few but - flipping fat pigeons are another matter!  >:(

I nipped back to the shed for some tools just in time to see 2 huge flapping pigeons take off from my little plum tree. They had been sitting on one of the two small branches.

Result = one snapped fully ladden branch. Little BU**ERS! So 25% of this years first ever crop snapped off...  >:(

Do pigeons normally attempt to eat small unripe fruit?
Perhaps they had just decided to perch there??

A bit late now but I have covered the tree with netting - looks  :( less than pretty.
