Spuds

Slightly premature I know, but I'm wondering how you all store your spuds..?

I've planted Earlies, Second Earlies and mains about 125 in all, so assuming I get a good  yield how would you store them..

I plan to give plenty away to mum and dad ( they live on spuds, they're Irish)

I've been buying mine from the farm in 25 kg bags and have kept the paper bags, dad has done the same.

I don't go through as many as them and I end up with soft wrinkly sprouting ones..

I know the obvious answer is to leave them in the ground as long as possible, but when they have to come up, what do you do?    :)

I store all mine in those blue mushroom crates in the shed with a dust sheet over them to keep out any light, every now and then I have a sort out to throw any dudds away, much easier than emptying a sack out  ;)
feed the soil not the plants

I can see the photo too

One thing about storing spuds is not to keep them too warm, but obviously not where they will get frosted, and not in the light.

I struggle to keep mine cool (nowhere outdoors to put them) so they go soft and wrinkled sooner than I would like.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
