Hi,

I have 4 Fenning Blacks and 4 Sussex lights, a few of the girls have developed what can only be described as "Bald Bums". I ensure their coop is spotless and it is dusted with anti bacterial powder, run is changed every 6 moths with tree bark.
Can anyone help with what might be causing this and a possible cure!

I would guess you could have correctly diagnosed your bird problems in your subject.
But................
Are they laying?
How old are they?
Can you see lots of feathers lying about?
Is there one chuck with full feathers?

Hi,
We are averaging 6-8 eggs a day, they are 18 months old now and established.
Ther does not seem to be anything out of the norm with feather moult.
I suspect bossy sussex lights maybe pecking! Have you seen this befor!

Moulting is what happens when a chuck reaches one year of age and then every year after that.  A chuck goes through partial moults several times a year.

I would say your chickens have a bald area.
Is there any redness in or around the bald area?
