I wonder if someone can help me with yet another new problem.

I have 7 chooks in a large shed, two of which are broody. One of the broody hens is sitting on eggs the other is not. For two days in a row the broody hens eggs have been thrown out of the nest box along with some other recently laid eggs from other nest boxes. Some eggs are smashed. This has never happened before - i really don't understand what is happening. All the chooks are in fine health and are laying well.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

That might be the favorite place to lay and the eggs are getting knocked about as the other hens try to lay in that spot.

 it is best to seperate a broody from the flock so she can brood in peace.
