Holly's gone broody
« on: April 15, 2009, 15:38 »
Oh dear after the last performance of her being quite nasty, and me showing her who is boss she calmed down.  Today I couldn't find her??
Went to collect the eggs and there she was sat on the eggs.  No problem... went to get the 2 that she wasn't sat on and the begger pecked my hand and drew blood :(

Left her alone and come back an hour later and she is still sitting on them.  Again I tried to get the eggs and she went for me and  made a right noise.
How long shall I leave her for ?????   The eggs arn't fertalised so they are no good sat on!!!  They need to be on my toast :D

Best bet is to keep turfing her off the nest MD :) She'll no doubt go back on but if you keep moving her hopefully she'll get bored ::)

Trouble is the longer you allow her to sit (weeks wise) the longer it'll be before she gives you any eggs again :(

What about popping a couple of duck eggs under her. ;)
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
