What causes an egg shell to feel ruff?

Calcium deposits?

Some of ours are rough and some very very smooth.  It is calcium deposits though,

we have have some that have little tiny calcium deposits that look like eggs??

Does that mean they are eating to much calcium?

Yehh,  I'm not sure if it means she is eating too much calcium, she eats what the others eat, although they do free range everyday.  She lays her egg late at night too.  Will wait to hear from others.

I found a site where it stated that a ruff shell might mean the hen is wormy.  ahhhh This could be,  what is good for treating worms?  I havn't done that.
