I have 2 isa browns and would like to get another couple. What breeds are friendly and happy to be kept in a run? i have looked around for this info but can't make up my mind. Light Sussex are attractinve but i think they are a table bird, i want them more for eggs. My niegbour has a small-ish' goldon (ginger) hen, i don't know the name hopefully somebody could help?

Hybrids all have the same personalty. Light Sussex are a good dual purpose bird and will lay well.

you shouldn't put that Foxy! you'll get a barrage of comments that they all have different personalities!!   

(i'm assuming you mean temperament.....  )

I think most of us choose hens that look different so we can tell them apart!!

I've got a Light Sussex Hybrid, a Bovans Nera and a Skyline (Cream Legbar hybrid) with my Warren. The Warren is top chook but they all get along fine.

The Warren is noticeably calmer and tamer than the other girls. The Light Sussex is quite sweet but the Skyline is noticeably curious and flighty.
