Hello,
We have had five new hens now for four weeks. We were told they they were 18/19 weeks old. Feed on layers first thing and a handfull of corn in the afternoon. They have all put on a lot of weight and are free ranging in the garden quite hapily and have become very tame, following us about etc. Problem is NO EGGS!! Am I being impatient or could there be something wrong? First time keeper so any advice would be very welcome,

First thing the clever peeps are gonna ask for are photos... its the law you know...add to that it will help cos they might be able to tell one or two things from the pictures...

Yes you're being impatient - but we all get like that!
Usually POL are sold at anything but 16 weeks, but usually will not start laying that early and it seems to vary from 18 - 26 weeks and as many people will tell you can be even longer for some hens. Don't despair the days are getting longer and more daylight is meant to help egg laying.  You'll notice their combs getting larger and redder and not long now will have that magic first egg
