glyphosate around grape vine

My first year on an abandoned plot and I’ve nearly finished with digging out the miles of bindweed and couch grass roots.

I have an established grape vine on the plot in a cage structure in the middle of two beds making it difficult to weed. Also I don’t want to damage the vines roots by deep digging.

Would I be okay to use glyphosate?
Would it damage the Vine?
How long after application is it safe to plant anything else?

appreciate any advice

As long as there are no green leaves or buds or fresh pruned surfaces the vine will be fine. If you want to be certain wrap plastic round the base before you apply the glyphosate. It is safe to plant as soon as the glyphosate has dried on the weeds. Do not disturb the weeds for at least 10 days after application. If you use a dribble bar rather than a sprayer to apply there is no drift on to other areas.
