Do you rub any of the chits off your potatoes before planting?

I've read different things about this, some for and some against.

All my potatoes have lots of chits and I'm not sure what to do with them.

Plus if you do rub some off ....why?

Thanks xx

You can rub off all bar 3 with main crop potatoes to encourage larger individual tubers. However, personally, I wouldn't rub off any chits as, if some get knocked off by accident, you've still got some spares.
