which poly?
« on: April 11, 2009, 17:04 »
hi all,

decided to recover the inherited polytunnel,, however after looking at different websites turned out there are different kinds of poly,, but i,m not sure which would be best for me?
the tunnel will be used for toms peppers chillies, cucumbers ect and for usual seelings ect of other veg and prob bedding plants ect,,
so is there anyone out there who could point me in right choice of poly?

i have found a poly that is anti fog at approx 5.50 per meter, but then found another site that sold poly sheet but was also anti fog at  4.50ish per meter

many thanks

The main thing is gauge - the thicker the sheeting, the longer it will last (within reason).  Also, get one that'll resist UV damage, as some cheap plastics become brittle and break very easily after a summer's exposure.  A good quality cover should be good for four or five years at least.  Anti-fog is nice if you're not always going to be around to dance attendance on the ventilators, and a green tint can help reduce scorching.

I've bought things from these people before, but don't know anything about their tunnel covers - might be useful to compare price though?
