i got my first allotment 4 years ago and the first ever parsnips i ever grew were brillant and very very massive { just  sowed them direct onto the soil  left them } i had a lot of ppl that were jealous of me .... well i now call that beginners luck as since then i havent been able to grow one parsnip and i have tried all methods
