I have just pulled one of my leeks and it has a bulbed end is it still good to eat, don't eat them myself.  I keep forgetting about them so they have been in since last march.  Had a right job to get it out.

I don't know about leeks but I think it's nice you've given it a name. :D

Yeah but do you eat them raw like the old man does.  Even eats brussels raw and they're peppery.

I love raw leeks in salad :D In fact this year i'm gonna grow (Hopefully ::)) more leeks and less onions. My onions didn't store well......but leeks seem reliable for winter use.
Mind you just as well i grow them cos at that price,no way!

your right there mumofstig, I googled in the end and the leek will be ok for OH, also tasted some meself not bad nice after taste.  But that one leek will do about 5 salads bit it goes off before use it all, never mind though seeds were given to me and still got some left three years later.  Also noted on site I looked at that they can be kept in ground for a year.
