That's the problem - you can come here for a holiday but you cant stay!  There are not many allotments over here though, so I don't know that you would be happy!  I'm just lucky that a guy down the road has lent me a little piece of his field.

Hi, I planted all my garlic in the autumn and most came up but there were distinct gaps and I was convinced it had either rotted or been eaten. But wahey, I spotted some green shoots after all the snow had melted! So different varieties take different times to sprout. Nic.

Well, I nipped up to the plot this afternoon just to see how it was looking (only got garlic and onions in so haven't been bothering to go up that often lately  :oops: ) and the garlic's started to appear!  :D  The onions are looking good too, wuhey!  :D

Lucky you Sal, i reckon we'll be in for some really bad weather soon if the storms end up coming over here. Frosts again in Feb no doubt.

How big would you say they are? I think mine have stopped growing entirely after the first frost.

Hmm....the biggest garlic shoots are about an inch, some are only just poking through though. The onions are up to about 6 inches, again some just showing.
