Huckleberries - Growing from Seed

I bought a packet of huckleberry seeds during the winter (remind me when that ends!). Has anyone had any experience of growing these?

They're easy to grow, part of the nightshade (tom) family. Don't require a lot, but do need some sun. I'd grow them away from any toms. The fruit isn't to my taste, but some people love them.

yeah....they taste YUCKY!!!!!

Really easy to grow though and they self seed everywhere!!

Hmmm..., looks like I've invested in a dodgy tasting fruit with weed-like tendencies. Ah well!

Never pick huckleberries until the frost has got to them! They get sweeter! Sow in spring - harvest in November, even if the fruits turn black in late summer, leave until the frost hits them!
