Volunteer Potato Advice...
« on: January 13, 2009, 11:01 »
Last year we planted about a 8' x 12' bed of spuds and for a number of reasons could not get back to harvest any of them.

I figure if we just leave it all as it stands, we're bound to get a stupid amount of plants springing up soon. More than can possible grow well together.

What would be the best thing to do? See what springs up and try and thin out? Dig the whole thing over now and try and eliminate as many as possible?

Let nature take it's course and see what happens?
Good beer, good BBQ and good friends.

Lift the crop and eat them. Frost and slugs will have done for some but many of them will be OK.
