Kitchen full of white fly.....
« on: December 19, 2008, 13:21 »
Wish I had prepared the cabbage outside but too late, they are everywhere!

Tried emersing the cabbage in water to get rid but they don't seem to drown. What can I do to get rid of them? Don't want them in my soup tonight and I need to get the kitchen clear of them too. NOT HAPPY  :!:

1 - Finish the cabbage off outside.
2 - Get the fly spray out in the kitchen!
3 - Learn your lesson!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks DD, managed to drop a few leaves in the conservatory on the way so had an infestation in their too, great!

No fly killer to hand but luckily they had all gone onto the window so have cleaned them, which is another job I needed to get done before Christmas anyway!

I have indeed learned my lesson and will do veg cleaning outside in future. I can just see me under a brollie trying to cut and wash in future!

Haven't had a problem that bad before, thought it was snowing! Thought they would have all died in the frost ??

Some of them are hardy little b's!

I try & trim all excess leaf/hose all excess soil off down the plot, so I don't mess up Mrs Diggers kitchen too much.

cawdor2001:  I remember him saying that.

Imagine someone out with the hoover sucking up pests from their plants!!?

How strange - but if it works - so what? :-)
