Hi there,

I missed planting, Field beans and Grazing Rye in November.

I have the soil turned over now and some normal manure applied, I covered most of it about 10 days ago with a clear plastic during them frosts.

Now that it looks to be a bit milder do you think I can try sowing my green manure or am I really to late, I am about 30miles south of Glasgow.

Thanks,
LD

Don't know about the rye but I think the beans can go in any time the soil is workable, but they probably won't make enough growth to be worthwhile if you want to clear them again in the spring. 'Fraid I can't speak from experience, so if anyone knows better please reply, as I am in a similar situation. My contingency plan is to use the area for brassicas.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Both will grow but as woodburner said they will not make much growth before Spring planting. However, if the ground is not to be used until later, maybe for runners, squashes or later brassicas, thenit will be fine
