Does anybody know whether the 100% cellulose which some sponge cloths are made of is natural plant cellulose (ie compostable) or some sort of 'artificial' material? also what they are dyed with? - they are quite bright colours.
I have even rung the customer careline (I do have a life - honestly :oops: ) but they didn't know.
I would feel so much better about the amount I get through if I could just throw them all in the compost when they get gunky.

I thought that cellulose sponges were biodegradeable.  You could just bung one in the compost whole and see what happens to it.  If it rots down ok then there you are    Mind you this weather not much is likely to happen so it'll be quite a wait.  Til then you could take them to the recyc place and see what they say.
