i have some garlic in pots growng well am just wondering when i can put them in my allotment?

Yup - garlic is one of the hardiest plants around.  But tell me, where do you have the pots now?

Next year, plant them straight into the ground - anytime between Sep to Dec.

This year, harden them off over a few days to avoid shock.  Having said that, I doubt if you could kill them if you tried.  Garlic is tough stuff - reckoned to be native of Siberia originally.

We had 12" of snow a few weeks back and the 6" high garlic plants were the first green thing I saw when the thaw set in.  They have survived minus 20 Celsius in past winters - and that is colder than your freezer compartment.

thanks for that, i have had them in the greenhouse for aweek with no heater on so they may be ok to put out i think.

Yeah - stick them out - it is so mild just now anyway.
