Peas
« on: February 25, 2007, 09:44 »
Can I plant them out now?

They are outgrowing the propogator and are very sturdy, healthy plants, or should I move them to the cold greenhouse first with the lid off before planting out?

They are too big almost to put the lid on now and the roots are sticking out of the bottom!

I'd put them in the cold greenhouse first, otherwise, straight outside would be a bit of a shock.

Personally I'd never start them off in a propagator, if you wanted plants to transplant, I think starting them off in the cold greenhouse would have been more than sufficient. Some varieties you can even plant straight in the ground in the autumn to over-winter.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
