Lobjoits Green Cos
Lolla Rossa
Little Gem
Curly endive

We only really eat Lobjoits 'cos (intended) they taste miles ahead of anything else.  The other three I grow for some local hotels and restaurants so that people can leave them on the side of their plates.

my objective this year is to have a successful lettuce crop all summer. Hopefully Lettuce that do not wilt within 2 mins of cutting. But i like little gems as you cut and eat one per meal. Lettuce have so far not been my most successful crop at all :?
always have a target
and an objective.

Lettuce (well - 'salad' stuff)
Start in seed trays:
Salad bowl - red and green - look pretty in the bowl
Webbs Wonderful and Great Lakes - like Iceberg, crunchy and moist
Cos

Sow direct, keep under fleece to avoid flea beetle:
Mixed 'Spicy Leaves' from Suttons - (incs Indian Wave mustard (lovely green), Rocket, Firery Red Mustard) - cut and come again type.

(Sow thinly about 2ft wide, 4ft long. Cover with fleece about 4ft wide, weighed down gently along the edges with pipes or stones. Then as the plants grow they push the fleece up. Crop on a cut and come again basis in about 4 weeks. Before the cutting becomes too sad so another row, so you will have greens for most of the year.)

This lot is ready for eating! Yum yum.

Will try Little Gem again, but not too successful in the past.
Keep the plot cultivated, that's the best way to ensure its future.
