Decided not to take them back, it was a 40 min drive each way but decided not to ever go back there again. We bought 4 hens, one was an old bird (gave that to the neighbours friend) one was ok, one died and the other is the one with the bad eye :(
The lesson to learn is to check the birds before you leave the ´shop´

Too true Pamela. I think people expect everyone else to be as honest as they are, and we come a cropper  :roll: .

Don't forget that in the UK even animals are covered under the sale of goods act, they must be fit for purpose.
