Decided not to take them back, it was a 40 min drive each way but decided not to ever go back there again. We bought 4 hens, one was an old bird (gave that to the neighbours friend) one was ok, one died and the other is the one with the bad eye
The lesson to learn is to check the birds before you leave the ´shop´

Too true Pamela. I think people expect everyone else to be as honest as they are, and we come a cropper  :roll: .

Don't forget that in the UK even animals are covered under the sale of goods act, they must be fit for purpose.
