Weight of seed potatoes
« on: November 02, 2008, 13:44 »
Hi all, does anyone know roughly the weight of seed spuds?
If I buy 1.5 kg of seed spuds roughly how many will I have?
I know it probably depends on variety etc but I don't wanna buy what seems like a load of spuds and end up with about 3!
Thanks.
Matt.

According to DT Brown's site, 1.5kg of seed spuds will give you 20-25 tubers of varieties like Anya, Arran Pilot, Kestrel, King Edwards. Charlotte and Lady Christl will give you about 20 tubers.

I think you would get close to 20 in a 1.5kg pack on average.

I go to a small garden center where you can select each potato so no large ones sneak in hence more per kilo also this allows me to grow more varieties i plant the same number of seed each year and always try to grow some different ones from the year before
