Has anyone grown the three sisters as per grow your own veg?

Has anyone actually grown the three sisters as per the grow your own veg program last night? I was sort of half watching and half chatting with the missus, but did she use the sweet corn stems for the beans to grow up and then the squashes inbetween the rows? I take it you use canes for the sweetcorn and allow the the beans to grow up the corn. What beans was it? I know I should have paid attention but it was sort of in the background and I only caught bits and pieces.

i`m going to try to grow pumpkins under corn this year as a living mulch its my first time growing either i`ll post how i get on with some pics with my new camera (Christmas pressie)
