Since I have started growing veg I have been using Nemaslug and to be honest haven't really seen any slugs and certainly no crop damage from them.  I did however have a terrible problem with cabbage whites on the cabbages.  I have just rung to order some more Nemaslug and they have told me that there is now a Nematode for caterpillers that will control cabbage whites.  I get mine from  www.alphahatch.com, just thought there may be some interest on here for others.

That's really interesting. I don't have a problem with slugs as the ducks deal; with them but caterpillars have been a real nuisence this year!

Yes it's certainly been a year for caterpillars I've had them on everything including some unexpected things like carrots, raspberry leaves and plums!

Yes me too.  Have just received the leaflet on the nematodes and it certainly sounds good so will be trying it next year

Grow nasturtiums, caterpillars luuuurve them and leave brassicas alone, wish the slugs and snails did altho black treacle seems to be doing the trick there
