Bedfordshire Champions

I followed tradition by planting my seeds at Christmas and within a few weeks they all came up.  I have since pricked them out, however, they all look very weak, some have died and I only have a few left.  Thought it might be over watering to start with as i had them on a capilary mat, but any advice would be welcome.

Hi and welcome to the forum rover.
Can I ask where you have grown them  and what medium you have used ? it sound's as like you say you may have over watered them, or it could be a nutrient deficiency, but probably unlikely at this point.
It's not to late to sow again that may be your best bet to be honest especially if you have only a few left. Personally I leave mine until the 1st few days of Feb.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Welcome Rover,i agree they were probably too wet on a capillary mat,sow again and keep the compost just moist.

Thanks for the welcome.

I sowed them in a seed compost with some John Innes No2, so was hoping for good results.  Think I will take your advice and sow again but not on the capillary mat.  I had them indoors near the window.  Thanks for your help.

fill the tray with decent compost not these big jumbo dodo bags of composts.tamp it down now water it,sow your seed and riddle some compost over them ,cover with cling film/sheet of glass/plastic or anything to keep the moisture in.dont water again until the they have germinated then just a fine mist with a spray thingy m jig
and keep them warm.
feed the soil not the plants
